I am interested in animal reiki and wondered if it would be possible to see an animal reiki healing session. I am thinking of starting training and am not sure how to go about it if I intend to work as much as possible with animals. I understand that reiki is somewhat different for animals. - from Maria H. Thank you for your message regarding Animal Reiki. You’re right - treating animals is a bit different than treating people. Animals are sensitive beings (even more so than most humans) and not all are comfortable with the hands-on techniques. This can be quite variable with different species. In my Reiki Level II class, I teach the basic concept of treating animals with Reiki as taught by my teacher, Kathleen Prasad. There are photos of myself assisting animals with Reiki, which are posted on my website. If you are not already Reiki attuned, you might want to consider starting with a Reiki I & II weekend.
